Why teeth try to move back
Stretched gum fibres, continuing jaw growth and daily tongue and lip forces all push teeth toward their old position, especially in the first year after the final aligner.
Retainer options
A thin wire bonded behind the front teeth works day and night without any effort. Clear removable retainers cover every tooth and are worn full time at first, then nightly long term. Many patients use both together.
Function protects the result
A tongue that rests on the palate, lips that seal and consistent nasal breathing keep teeth where we placed them. That is why we address habits and airway alongside tooth position, not afterwards.
