Is my child or teenager a candidate for Invisalign?

Age is rarely the deciding factor. Case type, oral hygiene and motivation are what we assess.

Is my child or teenager a candidate for Invisalign?

What we check at the assessment

We review crowding and spacing, the bite relationship, how many permanent teeth have erupted, gum health and the breathing and tongue pattern. A digital scan then shows whether aligners can deliver the required movements.

Cases that suit aligners well

Mild to moderate crowding, spacing, narrow arches, deep bites and relapse after earlier braces are all strong aligner cases. Growing children can also benefit from arch development built into the aligner sequence.

When we recommend something else

Severe skeletal discrepancies, several impacted teeth or very poor hygiene may be better served by fixed appliances, expansion first, or a combined plan. We will always tell you plainly which option gives your child the better result.
